SOIL ORGANISMS is an open access journal, with all articles made freely available. Publication is free of charge (from submission to processing). Authors are charged only for extraordinary requests, e.g., for colour plates in the printed journal.

SOIL ORGANISMS is an English-language, international blind peer-reviewed journal that includes original papers and review articles covering all aspects of organismic soil biology.

SOIL ORGANISMS constitutes a forum for soil biodiversity researchers worldwide for the exchange of new information, discussion of concepts and discoveries in soil biology. The journal is published by the Senckenberg Nature Research Society (SNG) and is the successor of the Abhandlungen und Berichte des Naturkundemuseums Görlitz, which was founded in 1827. Articles are made available per PDF File (Open Access) shortly after acceptance.

Manuscripts should be submitted in digital form as given in
the instruction for authors.
