Plot coordinates latitude Number Latitude of the plot if there are coordinates for every plot
Plot coordinates longitude Number Longitude of the plot if there are coordinates for every plot
Area abbreviation Text Short name of observation site or plot, e.g. within a project context, or used by an author for specific analyses.
Date of observation site description Date The date is documented as DD.MM.YYYY (e.g. June 1999 as 06.1999)
Altitude Number Altitude as discrete value or range. Altitudinal classes (e.g. montane, planar) are used and interpreted too unequally for this field, but are possible in the remarks field.

Habitat type countrywise List Habitat type lists of federal states
Slope Number The slope is documented in degrees, because this is more usual. Furthermore, given as a percentage, a vertical would be an infinite value.
Slope face List The list with 16 values is used with English abbreviations.
(anthropogenic) List  
is Experimental site Yes/No Experiments influence the species composition. For zoogeographical analyses, an anthropogenically (and temporarily) changed species composition is not relevant. Using this flag, experimental sites can be excluded from biodiversity analyses.

Dominance ratio as percentage in brackets.
Phytosociologic vegetation unit Text   Quote name of plant society, do not transfer species names from vegetation unit to 'dominant vegetation species' or vice versa. The list of vegetational societies is obsolete.
