Synthesis on mechanics and effects of tipping points

The various work packages of Q-TiP form a novel integration of terrestrial proxy records of environmental changes in the arid zone of Central Asia and “state of science” earth system modeling with different atmospheric models. Therefore, this approach includes a comprehensive proxy record for terrestrial environmental changes and changes in lake systems as well as a comprehensive physical understanding of the physical drivers for lake variability and tipping points in the coupled atmospheric-inner-Asian hydrological system.

In this work package, already existing data sets and analyses (e.g., from CAME I and the SPP TiP ) as well as in the course of Q-TiP newly added experimental data and modeling results shall be merged and lead to a synthesis
