The working group undertakes systematic and rescue excavations and deals with the preparation and conservation of the resulting fossil material, in accordance with the current research projects of each section. The working group is responsible for the conservation of the collections. Other tasks include making replicas of original fossils, constructing models, and digital image processing.

Frieze Excavation

In addition, the group undertakes investigations of preparation and conservation methods, and monitors the condition of specimens stored in the collections. Members of the working group are in charge of providing technical support for associates and guest scientists when using the collections.
