Marina Malyutina

• I study taxonomy, diversity and distribution of marine isopods. My special interest during the last years is an abundant and widely distributed group of deep sea isopods: the family Munnopsidae. I identified the ANDEEP munnopsids and stayed at the Zoological Museum Hamburg a few times.
  In Wilhelmshaven I am working for the first time, though two years ago I participated in the CeDAMar workshop on peracarid taxonomy that was held at the DZMB in Wilhelmshaven.

• Research Project at the DZMB:
  During my stay I will sort and identify munnopsids and isopods from the CeDAMar expeditions DIVA-2, KAPLAN, NODINAUT and BIOZAIRE in order to compare the richness and biodiversity with the ANDEEP-munnopsids. I like very much the comfortable and excellent conditions for working and living in the Institute, friendly people around and the collaboration with my colleagues and good friends Wiebke Brökeland and Nils Brenke. I would like to say special thanks to Pedro Martínez and Christa Dohn for organizing my trip and the warm welcome at the DZMB.
