Establishment of a Middle Eastern Biodiversity Research, Training, and Conservation Network
The goal of this project is to strengthen, within in a multi-facetted cooperation network, the capacity of Arab countries and Iran in documenting and analysing the Region’s unique biodiversity, promoting sustainable resource use and conservation.
Specifically, the project aims to:- Document regional biodiversity
- Analyse and understand the Region’s biodiversity
- Strengthen regional networking
- Communicate project results to a larger public
The project is one of 18 that was approved for funding by the “German-Arab/Iranian Higher Education Dialogue” programme of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). Its running time is from April 2006 to December 2008.
