River and Floodplain Ecology Research at the department is concerned with long-term changes of aquatic biodiversity, the effects of restoration measures on aquatic communities in streams and rivers, as well as the influence of climate Change on aquatic invertebrates. These topics are worked on predominantly in the context of different national and international research projects.

Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera, Trichoptera and Diptera are placed in collactions and curated.

Information on caddisflies of the West Palaearctic and Afrotropical regions of Africa can be obtained in Trichoptera Africana  

Our research is conducted in the research area of Biodiversity and Ecosystems.
