The Senckenberg Gesellschaft für Naturforschung (SGN) has about 4,600 members worldwide. SGN's headquarters are in Frankfurt am Main, where two Senckenberg institutes are located: The Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum and the Biodiversity and Climate Research Centre, BiK-F. Research Stations in Gelnhausen, Messel and Weimar are also part of the Senckenberg Research Institute and Natural History Museum. Further institutes are Senckenberg at the Sea Wilhelmshaven, the Senckenberg Entomological Institute Müncheberg, the Senckenberg Natural History Museum Görlitz and the Senckenberg Natural History Collections Dresden. SGN operations are managed by the Board of Directors, headed by Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Volker Mosbrugger, SGN's director general. The Board of Presidents advises the Board of Directors and oversees financial activities. SGN president is Dr. h. c. Beate Heraeus. An organigram can be found on the German webpage.
