They are tiny or huge, brand new or historic, cute enough to eat or supposedly ugly – the more than 10,000 specimens and models in Frankfurt’s Senckenberg Natural History Museum. They embody the infinite abundance of nature in the past and present. And our museum guides can draw on a wealth of resources, because people are just as diverse as our exhibits.
Treat yourself and adopt your favorite exhibit or delight your loved ones with this unusual and always appropriate gift, starting at just €50 for one year. The ruff for victory in the marathon, the pair of mallards for a wedding, a rose quartz for Mother’s Day, or simply your favorite snake for a birthday.
This also gives us great pleasure, as you are helping us to preserve valuable exhibits, purchase new display cases, or improve ventilation and lighting.

Patronage
Who is the Senckenberg Nature Museum patronage program suitable for?
Everyone! We welcome museum patrons of all ages and backgrounds. You can purchase a patronage for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
If you do not renew your patronage, it will simply expire.
Can we adopt an exhibit as a company/association?
Of course! Adopting an exhibit is a great way to give your employees a treat and support our museum. We will be happy to create the patron’s plaque and certificate with your company logo.
Is there a price list for exhibits?
Our museum patronages are always individual and not “off-the-shelf.” Therefore, please simply contact us with a request—we will be happy to advise you, naturally in line with your budget requirements.
Is there a list of availabel exhibits?
Our museum is constantly changing. Exhibits are moved, returned to the collections, or new ones are added to our exhibition. Due to this dynamic nature, we do not have a “list” for you, but we are always happy to help you find something suitable.
How long can I adopt an exhibt?
Various renovation measures will be taking place at our museum in the coming years. For this reason, we generally limit patronages to one year. Don’t worry, we will always ask you in good time whether you would like to extend your patronage.

Sponsorship contribution
Where do I send my patronage contribution?
You will find all the information you need in your sponsorship agreement. Our account at Frankfurter Sparkasse has the IBAN DE15 5005 0201 0000 7601 57.
Can I claim my museum patronage as a tax deduction?
Yes, you can!
Senckenberg works with the simplified administrative practice of the tax authorities, i.e., donation receipts are issued for donations of 300 euros or more. For amounts up to €300, a deposit slip or booking confirmation from your bank (e.g., bank statement) is sufficient to claim your donation as a special expense for tax purposes (§ 501 EStDV).
Patron’s plaque
Where can I find my patron’s plaque?
Is your exhibit located in the bird hall, the deep sea, or the coral reef? Then keep an eye out for our patron’s plaques in the respective rooms. You will also find your plaque there.
Because it is too dark in our deep sea to attach the plaques in a clearly visible and legible manner, you will find the corresponding sponsorship board in the marine research room.
For all other objects, we attach a patron’s plaque to the display case of the respective exhibit.
Extension & Termination
Can I extend my museum patronage?
Of course, we are delighted about this – and we make it very easy for you: shortly before your patronage ends, you will receive your new patronage agreement from us.
As soon as you sign and return it to us, you will receive your new patronage certificate. If not, the patronage simply ends.
Is my museum sponsorship automatically renewed?
No, your museum patronage is not automatically renewed. We will send you a new patronage agreement shortly before it expires. If we do not receive any response from you, your museum patronage will end on the agreed date.
I have been given a museum patronage as a gift.
I would now like to take it on myself. What do I need to do?
If you have been given a museum sponsorship as a gift and would like to take it on yourself next year, this is no problem. Simply contact us by email at patenschaften@senckenberg.de.
How can I cancel my museum patronage?
Eine Kündigung ist nicht notwendig. Sie bekommen kurz vor Ablauf eine neue Patenschaftsvereinbarung zugeschickt. Wenn wir keine Rückmeldung von Ihnen erhalten, endet Ihre Museumspatenschaft fristgerecht.
