Lower Invertebrates – “Vermes”
The collections range from protozoans (Foraminifera) to higher evolved worms (Annelids).
Bryozoa Our collections preserve quite some historic objects collected and determinated by well known German scientists of the 19th century, such as Rudolph Leuckart, including parasites and marine species.
Leuckart was appointed Professor in 1869 at the University of Leipzig, where he established an active site of parasitology research untill 1880.
We mainly host Platheminthes, Nemathelminthes (parasitic and non-parasitic worms), Porifera (sponges), Bryozoa, Cnidaria (incl. old corals), Tentaculata and Annelids.
