The Zoology Department focuses on the major research fields of slugs and snails, ants and mammals. Our current projects address questions of ecology and general biology of species as well as specific problems in the fields of taxonomy and systematics. The Geology/Palaeontology Section works on volcanology and the reconstruction of landscape evolution.
