Biodiversity Mapping

The working group for biodiversity mapping has been recording the biotope types in Frankfurt’s urban area since 1985 and also carries out in-depth floristic and zoological studies. In 2023, the project was relaunched in the form of a 12-year research collaboration between the Senckenberg – Leibniz Institution for Biodiversity and Earth System Research (SGN) and the Environmental Agency of the City of Frankfurt entitled ‘Förderung der Arten- und Biotopvielfalt in Frankfurt am Main – Identifizierung von Maßnahmen zur Minderung der Folgen von Klimawandel und Nutzungsdruck’.
