The Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz has published the Bibliographia Oribatologica since 1968 and the Bibliographia Mesostigmatologica since 1990 as a supplement of its journal “Abhandlungen und Berichte des Naturkundemuseums Görlitz”.
As of 2001 the bibliographies had been published as the new periodical „ACARI – Bibliographia Acarologica“. Three issues were published yearly containing the new publications from around the world on the mite groups Mesostigmata, Oribatida and Actinedida, including the newly described taxa.
This issue marks the end of an era. The publication of ACARI – Bibliographia Acarologica will be discontinued with volume 23.
