In line with its mission: Senckenberg connects research with the interests of society, makes science tangible, and advises policymakers, business and other stakeholders on issues of biodiversity conservation. We make research accessible to the public, identify societal knowledge needs, and integrate them into our research. In political and societal dialogue, Senckenberg takes on an independent role and provides scientifically grounded options for action. With its Science & Society programme, Senckenberg contributes to processes of social transformation and to the development of a democratic knowledge society, in line with the agenda of the Leibniz Research Museums.
The program is structured into six areas.
