Research vessel “Senckenberg”
Program Research Infrastructure
Coordinated by the Institute Senckenberg am Meer, Senckenberg charters the research vessel “Senckenberg” for up to 9 months a year from the shipping company Briese (part of BrieseResearch) for long-term research and biodiversity monitoring in the North Sea, especially in the German Wadden Sea region.
Senckenberg also works together with research groups from other partner institutions. Concepts are currently being developed for the construction of a new coastal research vessel that meets the latest requirements.
