Description (en): To date, there is a lack of clarity in the literature due to the holotype of the bivalve subspecies Inoceramus pictus concentricoundulatus Tröger, 1967. The specimen of the first erection of the subspecies name by Tröger (1967: 46, pl. 3, fig. 7) from the lower Upper Cenomanian of Saxony, Germany, still exists in the TU Bergakademie Freiberg (holotye FG: 253/379). This I. pictus subspecies rarely occurs; six more specimens are hosted in the Museum für Mineralogie und Geologie in Dresden. All seven specimens from Saxony are shown; the holotype for the first time photographically.

Description (de): Bis heute herrscht in der Literatur Unklarheit über den Holotypen der Muschel-Unterart Inoceramus pictus concentricoundulatus Tröger, 1967. Das Exemplar der Erstaufstellung des Unterartennamens durch Tröger (1967: 46, Taf. 3, Fig. 7) befindet sich in der TU Bergakademie Freiberg (Holotypus FG: 253/379). Diese I.-pictus-Unterart ist selten; sechs weitere Exemplare werden im Museum für Mineralogie und Geologie in Dresden aufbewahrt. Alle sieben Exemplare aus Sachsen werden abgebildet, der Holotyp zum ersten Mal fotographisch.
