How to Find us

Arrival by train
Walk out of the station to the right after the tracks and cross Valoisplatz. Continue straight ahead, cross Weserstraße and the old dike bridge (due to construction work, there is currently a temporary bridge for pedestrians and cyclists a little further to the right on Weserstraße), the Pumpwerk cultural center is on the right side of Jadestraße.

Follow Jadestraße and you will automatically reach Südstrand in a sharp left-hand bend. Approx. 300 m after this bend you have reached “Senckenberg am Meer”.

The entrance to the research institute is at the bus stop “Seedeich”.

Marine Research is the building on your right and the main entrance is on the dike side.

 

Arrival by car
Wilhelmshaven is located exactly where the Autobahn 29 ends and can therefore be reached quickly and easily by car. Coming from Oldenburg, take the exit (5) “Wilhelmshavener Kreuz” and turn right off the A29. Continue on the B210 in the direction of WHV-Süd/Roffhausen.

At the intersection B210/Banter Weg turn right and drive along Banter Weg until you cross the Rüstringer Bridge. After the bend, turn left into Emsstraße.

Drive along Emsstraße until the end and take the 1st exit at the traffic circle. You are now on the Jadeallee.

Follow this road and you will automatically come to Südstrand in a sharp left-hand bend. Approx. 300 m after this bend you have reached “Senckenberg am Meer”.

Arrival by airplane
The nearest major airport is Bremen Airport (BRE). After landing, you can either take streetcar line 6 directly to the main train station or come to Wilhelmshaven with a rental car (see Arriving by car). From Bremen main station you usually take the train to Wilhelmshaven via Oldenburg and get off at Wilhelmshaven main station. The journey time from Bremen main station to Wilhelmshaven is about 90 minutes.
