The Research Infrastructure program area is divided into three large sub-areas:
- Knowledge resources (collections, libraries, databases)
- Research platforms
The Research Infrastructure program area comprises those infrastructure units that constitute the indispensable basis for our research and are generally open to external users as well. Certain infrastructure institutions are operated in conjunction with other entities (e.g., Joint Labs such as the Stable Isotope Laboratory in Frankfurt, run jointly with the Goethe-University). Based on the research, this program area is closely linked to the education and training of young academics. The upkeep and continual reinvestment in the laboratories and equipment fleet and the integration and investment in new future research technologies pose ongoing challenges. Each sub-area involves working groups that address the corresponding concepts.
