Research

Long term research interests concern:

  1. Lower Jurassic ostracod biogeography in relation to contemporary oceanographic and climatic systems, with current projects on the Pliensbachian-Toarcian boundary in southern Britain and Umbria, Italy, and offshore material from Western Australia.
  2. Quaternary ostracods Britian, the Skaggarak (collaboration with Aarhus Universitet) and Rio Sizandro, Portugal (collaboration with the University of Frankfurt and Universidade de Lisboa).
  3. Cenozoic of the eastern Mediterranean, especially Cyprus, with a current project on Neogene biostratigraphy and sedimentary history in relation to tectonics of the Nicosia district (collaboration with the Cyprus Geological Survey Division and U.S. Geological Survey via Unops).
