The library of the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz is one of the largest special libraries for natural science in Upper Lusatia, currently holding a stock of approximately 151 000 media units.
The library predominantly provides scientific literature for the scientists of the institute [museum] but is also open to public. The offering for readers includes generally understandable literature on topics of natural and regional history. The library collects and makes accessible literature about zoology, soil zoology, botany, ecology, geology and palaeontology. Literature about other scientific topics or the history of Upper Lusatia will be included in the stock on a limited scale.
