Following the success of our in-house series Museum@Kinderzimmer, we have now developed the counterpart for young people and adults. Here you can learn all about the most exciting exhibits in our Frankfurt Nature Museum and their historical and scientific backgrounds.

This episode is about the okapi. Often the okapi is confused with a zebra, but this animal species is a cloven-hoofed animal from the giraffe family!

This episode is about minerals, more specifically, quartz. Quartz forms crystals that can vary greatly in color and shape.

During the Earth’s Middle Ages, in addition to dinosaurs, various marine lizards evolved from land back into the water. A very special marine lizard is Placodus Gigas, which is the subject of this episode.

This episode is all about the quagga, an extinct species of zebra. There are only 23 specimens left in the world like the one at the Senckenberg Naturmuseum. But when did the quagga live? When did it become extinct and what made this animal so special? Find out here!

In this episode, it’s all about the Grube Messel exhibition at the Senckenberg Natural History Museum. The Messel Pit fossil site has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1995. Since Senckenberg was involved in the excavation, this exciting exhibition could be created. Also included is the landmark of the Messel Pit: the premival horse.
